A true little paradise on earth, Brittany will once again honor the horse in 2025. In June, the department of Ille-et-Vilaine will host a new edition of two of its flagship events in the world of tourism and horse riding: Equibreizh and Trans Ille-et-Vilaine.
From Equibreizh…
From June 20 to 22, 2025, equestrian hikers will meet in Saint-Just (35) to explore the Pays de Redon on horseback or in a carriage for the Equibreizh. Organized by the Association À Cheval en Ille-et-Vilaine (AACIV), this gathering allows enthusiasts to come together and explore several regional horse riding routes together. In the heart of Saint-Just will also be the Equibreizh village. This public reception area will host various festivities, shows, exhibitions and other events.
On Saturday June 21, hikers will discover the natural and historical heritage of the Pays de Redon. Then, the circuit will allow them to venture out to discover the local heritage of Saint-Just on Sunday June 22.
Inaugurated in 1997, Equibreizh is an emblematic equestrian route in Brittany. It is the fruit of the work of the Regional Equestrian Tourism Committee of Brittany and departmental associations (the AACIV for Ille-et-Vilaine) as well as the Departmental Council of Ille-et-Vilaine. Its route goes around Brittany. The different circuits pass through the highlights of Breton tourism: monuments, “cities of character”, landscapes, valleys and moors. True wonders to discover on horseback.
…at the Trans Ille-et-Vilaine
A few days after the Equibreizh, the riders and hikers will meet for the Trans Ille-et-Vilaine from June 24 to 28. It obviously welcomes all leisure horse riders, whether independent, club riders, associations or even professionals, and brings together departments curious to discover the Bretillian trails. The AACIV, equestrian partner of the Ille-et-Vilaine Departmental Council, is once again in charge of organizing this event.
This year, the Trans Ille-et-Vilaine will ride for four days on a traveling loop departing from the Saint-Just site. It will allow riders to explore remarkable natural spaces, such as the megalithic site and the moors of Cojoux in Saint-Just, the Vilaine marsh or even the Île aux Pies in Bains sur Oust. It will obviously offer clear and varied panoramas over the countryside and the Vilaine.
« The aim of the event remains unchanged », Promise the organizers. It is “ to offer a friendly hike to riders and outdoor leaders, crisscross the entire department and make its many natural assets visible. » With thousands of kilometers of trails, Ille-et-Vilaine is indeed full of treasures for hikers and horseback travel enthusiasts.
