FC Barcelona will be AS Monaco’s special guest this Thursday evening in the Champions League. The Catalan club also dreams of moving forward with the recruitment of two Monaco players.

Four French clubs in the Champions League, the European Cup is back in full swing this week. Monaco will have the right to the most beautiful game with the reception of FC Barcelona. The Catalan club is walking on water at the start of the season, and hopes to once again cause fear in Europe, which was not really the case in previous seasons. Despite notorious difficulties, the Catalan club can rely on its training center which produces nuggets at every moment, and also on an ability to manage to recruit as best it can to strengthen itself. And this trip to the Principality could allow the Spanish giant to combine business with pleasure, with particular attention being paid to two AS Monaco players that Barça would like to have in its camp soon.

Monaco resisted Barça this summer

According to journalist Joaquim Piera who works for Sport, FC Barcelona will be closely monitoring Caio Henrique and Vanderson, the two Brazilian full-backs of the Monaco club. Two targets who would allow them to replace players like Joao Cancelo, who left for Saudi Arabia, and Marcos Alonso, who joined Celta Vigo. Deco, Barça’s chief scout, loves the profile of the two Brazilians who are very offensive but who do not neglect defensive work. Another positive point is that the two players share the same agent, which could make things easier with a view to a possible double whammy. According to the Spanish press, AS Monaco is aware of Barça’s interest, but has not opened the door to a transfer this summer, with the aim of performing well in the Champions League. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Catalan club if Vanderson and Caio Henrique were to cause trouble for Hansi Flick’s team this Thursday evening at Louis-II.
