Among the ten candidates who recorded their song in the France Bleu Alsace studios, five were selected to continue the adventure of the 5th edition of the D’Stìmme competition. You have until August 31 to vote for your favorite artist. Only three will go to the final.

For the 5th edition of the D’Stìmme singing competition, 50 amateur or semi-professional artists sent a model, a record. Songs in Alsatian or Platt Lorraine listened to by a jury composed, among others, of the event’s partners (France Bleu Alsace, l’Olca, France 3) who selected ten. The artists concerned were able to record their song at the end of May in the France Bleu Alsace studio. Now it’s up to you to decide between them. Only three of them will go to the final at the end of October at the Royal Palace in Kirrwiller (Bas-Rhin).

Among the five voices for which you can vote, that of Solange Delle, with an adaptation by Nina Simone. “It’s a song that I really like. She talks about hope and life.” Edouard Heilbronn, offers an original composition with “Zàrdi Kràft” (sweet power). “It’s about music. On the effect it has on us, how it carries us away at certain moments in life.” He is participating in the competition for the second time.

Another familiar face, that of Brigitte Crenner. She has already participated in the competition, which has had an impact. “Regularly, I am asked to sing, play, for the Spring of Language,
or during village festivals. I find it important to continue to keep Alsatian alive.“A dialect which, for some, is a challenge. The 4th candidate, Emilie Thoby, does not speak the language, but wanted to sing in Alsatian. “JI put my little one in a bilingual Alsatian-French school and they tell the school that it’s important that Alsatian is not a sub-language. Even though I don’t speak very well, it was important to show my little one that it’s important for mom too.“,

This competition is a way for everyone to show their attachment to our dialect. For Richard Metz, the last candidate selected, it is an opportunity to invest in his mother tongue. “I have always sung in French, in English, and also in Alsatian. But in recent years, it has become more important for me to support Alsatian.

To get an idea before the vote, listen to the five extracts:

  • Solange Delle: Ich fühle mer güet (I feel good), original text to a tune by Michael Buble

  • Edouard Heilbronn: Zàrdi Kràft” (gentle power), original composition

  • Brigitte Crenner: Unterem Sternehimmel (under the starry sky), original composition

  • Emilie Thony: D’Stìmme (the voices), original composition

  • Richard Metz: s’Bild vom àlde Wàsserzoll (the image of the old tollbooth), original composition

You have until August 31 to vote on the Here application or on the France Bleu Elsass website. The three finalists will meet on stage at the Royal Place at the end of October. The winner of the competition will be able to record a CD.
