Maybe you shouldn’t accept an all-expenses-paid vacation from a stranger, no matter if they’re a famous billionaire and look like Channing Tatum. With Blink Twice, Zoë Kravitz makes her directorial debut and intends to bring a wind of fear to the summer period. The actress brings together several famous actors and actresses to recount a stay of Frida’s hell. After meeting a rich businessman at a party, Frida is invited by him to spend a few days in the sun. On a private island, she discovers decadent evenings where champagne flows freely. But beneath the veneer of this idyllic vacation a dark secret hides, strange events begin to happen. What if his ticket to relaxation never came back?

The summary, as much as the first images presented this Wednesday April 24, is reminiscent of another horrific success of recent years. Through her thriller produced by Amazon MGM and distributed by Warner Bros in France, the director seems to summon references to Get Out by Jordan Peele. We can hope that it will demonstrate the same narrative and visual mastery, the filmmaker’s first film was distinguished by rave reviews and a Dantesque box office despite a tiny budget of 4.5 million.

It makes you want

It must be admitted that the promise of exploring a paradise island alongside characters each more shady than the next is interesting. If he is more used to comedy, Channing Tatum could show himself in a new light with this production. The actor is not the only big name invited to the casting since the film also invites Kyle MacLahan, Geena Davis and Christian Slater. Adria Arjona and Simon Rex will also come to surround the main duo.

Behind the scenes, Zoë Kravitz also worked on the writing of the screenplay alongside ET Feigenbaum. It was on the High Fidelity project that they met. This new collaboration promises to be particularly closely observed. The appointment has already been made for August 21, 2024 at the cinema with Blink Twice.
