A meeting of strategic importance was held this Tuesday between the Minister of Digital Affairs, Alioune Sall, and his National Education counterpart, Moustapha Guirassy.

The two officials presented and discussed the Digital Strategy for Senegalese Education 2025-2029an ambitious project estimated at 130 billion FCFAdesigned to revolutionize education through the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

This initiative is part of the New Technological Deala vision carried by the government to modernize the country’s infrastructure and educational systems. The main objective is to enable schools to adopt cutting-edge technological tools, while strengthening equity and innovation within the Senegalese education system.

During the session, Ministers Sall and Guirassy highlighted the need for close collaboration between their departments to ensure successful implementation of this strategy. According to the terms mentioned, a task force will be created to coordinate the efforts of the two ministries. This team will have to propose concrete solutions to harmonize approaches and integrate educational priorities in the pilot phase of the Digital Master Planalready under development.

Alioune Sall underlined the crucial role of connectivity and digital infrastructure in the success of this project. He reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary resources to connect schools and modernize educational information systems. This initiative will also include transversal technological solutionssuch as digital identity, cybersecurity, and data analysis platforms for effective management of the education sector.

For his part, Moustapha Guirassy welcomed this collaborative dynamic, stressing that this strategy represents a decisive step forward in meeting the current challenges of education. “ The modernization of our education system requires an ambitious digital transformation, and this strategy brings us closer to our objective of building a more connected and more competitive Senegal “, he said.

The meeting ended with a message of unity and determination, the two ministers reaffirming their common desire to make digital a lever of transformation for education and national development. This ambitious project, if successfully completed, could position Senegal as a regional model in terms of educational innovation and digital governance.
