Patricia, how long have you been painting and what inspired you to show your works?
I have been painting since I was little.
My grandmother introduced me to silk painting, and at 15, she gave me my first oil paintings, which I never left.
For years, I painted for myself, discreetly. But everything changed with the 2024 Vin Jaune Breakthrough. As a member of the decoration commission, I proposed to the municipality an ephemeral fresco which, ultimately, became permanent…
While I was painting it, many locals came to watch me work. Their enthusiasm encouraged me to come out of the shadows. Since June 1st, I declared myself an artist-author, and I halved my working time as a childcare assistant at the nursery to devote myself fully to painting.
Why did you choose linen as a support?
It's a bit of my signature. The linen canvas, coated with hide glue, retains a natural appearance that I really appreciate.
Each canvas has its own grain, which adds texture and authenticity to my works. This material is also very resistant, ideal for lasting over time. I am particularly demanding about the quality of wooden frames, because I sometimes exhibit in cellars where humidity can be a problem.
Your favorite theme is nature, especially grapes. Why this choice?
I am deeply attached to nature. I like walking through the vineyards, observing the evolution of the grapes, photographing the details. My paintings are often faithful reproductions of my macro photos.
This passion for realism comes from my character: I am determined, precise, and I like meticulous work.
The abstract doesn't suit me, I prefer to capture real beauty, whether it's bunches of grapes or animals I meet during walks in the forest.
What are your future plans?
Currently, I am working on two series: one around grapes, which remains my main theme, and the other on fauna and flora.
I like challenges, like when I painted a car with transparency and chrome effects.
Ultimately, I hope to make a living exclusively from my painting.
It's a dream, but I'm determined to make it come true. My hyperrealistic technique requires time and precision. However, it allows me to highlight every detail, to bring objects to life.
It is this sensitivity, both discreet and passionate, that I want to share through my works…
