Around 2:00 p.m., Sunday January 5, 2025, the firefighters of the Gard intervened for a stuck individual in the cliffs of Ranc de Banes, near Sumène (). One hour walking and climbing was necessary to reach it.

Delicate intervention

As soon as the alert was triggered, emergency services searched for the lost hiker. He was finally spotted in a rock bar. Its location was made difficult because of heavy fog in this rural sector of the Gard.

The firefighters benefited from the reinforcement of a specialized team from the Intervention Group in Perilous Environments (Grimp) to be able to save the individual.
