Which brands sold fewer than 100 new cars in France in 2024?

At the antipodes of the leader Renault and its 277,000 registrations, certain brands sold fewer than 100 new cars in in 2024. From Cadillac to Maserati via Vinfast, discover the list.

Sell more than 100 new vehicles in France in one year? This is a figure within reach of many manufacturers. Caterham, Lamborghini and the Chinese Aiways have narrowly reached this milestone in 2024. Ferrari has even managed to do more than three times better than that, despite its models priced at the very least elitist. But its compatriot Maserati cannot say the same. Despite the launch of the Grecale Folgore electric SUV or the new generations of GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the trident brand was only able to attract 97 customers in France last year. It is one vehicle less than Cadillac, whose return to our market only took place during the year. But it's already better than the Vietnamese Vinfast and its 94 units or Subaru and its 62 sales. It is true that the Japanese manufacturer has reduced its range to just the Solterra, a clone of the Toyota bZ4X with an uncompetitive positioning.

Brands with very varied profiles

Now defunct, the Fisker brand has still managed to register 74 examples of its Ocean in 2024 in our country. These owners have also decided to create an association to organize themselves in the face of Fisker's bankruptcy. The list also includes Chinese labels which are just arriving in France, such as Hongqi and Skyworth, or which are preparing to do so, such as Polestar. Not to mention a few “curiosities”, which are not officially available here, but may have been imported separately. This is the case of Genesis, a luxury subsidiary of the Hyundai group offered in particular in Germany, or of DR, which markets in Italy or Spain models from the Middle Kingdom and partially assembled in Europe.

There are also a few die-hard artisans, such as PGO, which climbed 600% when many thought the brand had disappeared, Deviallet, Secma or even Moke, which produces a 100% electric reinterpretation of the Mini of the same name. Without forgetting some very prestigious British manufacturers, but accustomed to discreet sales in France, such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Morgan or Rolls-Royce. On the other hand, helped by its Eletre SUV, Lotus has reached the milestone of 200 registrations in 2024. As for Bugatti, its absence is not an error: although it is based in Molsheim, in Alsace, the brand has not registered a single car in France in 2024.
