The Hauts-de-France region announced the «suspension totale» school transport for Wednesday after Météo-France placed four departments in the north-west, Seine-Maritime, Somme, Nord and Pas-de-Calais, on orange alert for snow and ice from Wednesday afternoon .
In the middle of the day on Wednesday, the disturbance which “approached the country this Tuesday gradually moving towards the north”indicates Météo-France in its latest bulletin to date. Meteorologists expect“upon contact with colder air to the north, precipitation becomes snowy from Upper Normandy to Hauts-de-France”. Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected in the most affected areas.
