The Departmental House of Vendée Associations (MDAV) will launch in 2025 the Fonds of Vendée solidarity endowment (FDVS) for sustain THE Vendée associations in projects to impact social, culturel et environmental. The point with Pascal Giuliani, president of MDAV since April 2024.

Le Journal du Pays Yonnais: The MDAV recently took over the FDVS, a system that has existed for around fifteen years. Can you explain its genesis and its objective to us?

Pascal Giuliani: The FDVS was created in 2010 to Herbaria thanks to the capitalisation of donations from individuals and businesses. Its initial mission was to sustain THE sports associations of the bocage. However, it subsequently fell into disuse. MDAV took it over in 2022 and modernized it to strengthen support to associations throughout the department in their projects of general interest.

What resources will the FDVS be made up of?

We collect funds from of private donors et businesses, whether small or large. For example, the Business Union of proximity (U2P) account 22 000 members in the craft, local commerce and liberal professions sectors. Imagine if each craftsman donated €10! We may also receive funds of associations that have become inactive. To date, we already have 80 000 €.

You have set up a strategic committee, made up of numerous partners, including some institutional ones. For what ?

Nothing is worse than a fonds of isolated endowment. This is why we wanted to bring together a wide range of partners, including the CCI, the MEDEF, the CMA, the Chamber of Agriculture, the ESS Center (Social and Solidarity Economy), banks, as well as the departmental council and the House of Commons. We want the FDVS to be integrated into its territory and promote synergy between stakeholders.

You indicate that the MDAV has the ambition to provide financial resources to associations, but also skills. Can you explain to us?

Indeed, our intention is to offer a lasting solution to associations financially supported by the FDVS. For maximize their chances of success, we will make available to them the SKILLS of the MDAV and those of the Action Solidarity Expertise association (ASE).

You have not targeted specific objectives linked to current societal issues. For what reason?

It's true, we opted instead for a general choice. Above all, we want stimulate associative commitment et encourage implementation d’initiatives meeting local needs. This is a first and we will be attentive to feedback from the field to adapt and develop the calls for projects.

And now what will happen?

In FEBRUARY 2025, we will start with a official inauguration with surprises and great encounters, but above all, solidarity energy to spare! In May, we will launch the first call has projects. We plan to support approximately four projects per year, with amounts ranging from €8,000 to €12,000.
