A family on Penon Street was extricated from their home by a fire that started outside the home on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

This is considered suspicious. The scent of gasoline was perceived as well as a melted gasoline can found on site. The Sûreté du Québec therefore seized the file for investigation.

Operations manager Alain Lauzon indicated that the fire started outside the house, near a door. The flames spread through the vinyl siding of the facade. The interior, however, was minimally damaged.

However, the couple and a young girl left the scene with a certain fright in the middle of the night around 12:15 a.m. They were rescued by neighbors where they were able to regain some calm and obtain comforting warmth.

The two teams of firefighters on site, as well as the other on cover, completed an intervention quickly.
