A collision between two barges took place this Tuesday, January 7 around 7:30 a.m. departing from Grande-Terre, the main island of Mayotte. On one of them was the patron saint of National Rally deputies, Marine Le Pen, and her entire delegation, who had come to meet the victims of the deadly cyclone Chido.
Several people thrown, between 5 and 10 injured
While traveling on the archipelago, she did not think she would experience such misfortune. The latter and her team then connected Grande-Terre and Petite-Terre before joining the airport to return to mainland France. No member of the RN was injured, but people were thrown and five minor injuries were reported, according to information from France Info, 10 according to the local press. They were taken to hospital. The border police took charge of Marine Le Pen and her team.
“Many people were lucky in their misfortune, shall we say,” testifies the multiple candidate for the presidential election, who arrived in Mayotte on Sunday for three days. On the other hand, according to her, “the chief engineer was injured”, he visibly “broke one or two, or three ribs for that matter”. According to Agence-France Presse (AFP), this accident paralyzed barge rotations for more than an hour.
The departmental delegate of the National Rally, Saïdali Boina Hamissi, declared on BFMTV that he did not understand “what happened”. “The vast majority of people found themselves on the ground, (Marine Le Pen) remained seated, clinging to her chair,” he said. More fear than harm.
