TOURISM / According to the Development Agency, attendance is up 3% compared to last winter

The Christmas holidays are in good shape according to the Hautes-Alpes Economic and Tourist Development Agency. It is time to take stock, a more than positive result since it is on average an occupancy rate of practically 81% in the department's stations over the two weeks, including 92% for the week of the New Year. Enough to give a smile to Yvan Chaix, the director of the Agency.

According to Yvan Chaix, several factors, “ the efforts made in recent years of investment and promotion to make the Hautes-Alpes more attractive. And then there is also a favorable calendar. The weather was also exceptional with nearly 15 days of sunshine.”
A trend which would also be confirmed for the future. According to forecasts, the occupancy rate in January is more than 40%, and more than 62% for the February holidays, or 4% more than last year.
