A stormy episode linked to Floriane's depression, “of short duration but accompanied by locally intense gusts of wind and occurring on weakened soils (saturated with water)”, crosses France this Sunday January 5, announces Météo France.
In Pays de la Loire, Vendée, Maine-et-Loire and Sarthe are placed on orange alert for violent winds from next night, from 4 a.m. for Vendée. Maine-et-Loire and Sarthe will be affected from 6 a.m. Monday morning.
“A sudden strengthening of the southwest wind is expected in the departments on orange alert, in Vendée from the end of the night from Sunday to Monday then heading towards the Paris basin in the morning of Monday”, announces Météo France.
The windy episode will be relatively brief but intense with gusts of wind which “will generally reach 90 to 100 km/h, occasionally 110 km/h. The wind will weaken significantly afterwards.”
