More lasting snowfall could affect departments close to the north-eastern borders, particularly those in the Grand Est region, where we could observe up to 5 centimeters of snow on the ground.
Over the hours, with the mild weather, the departments affected first by freezing rain or snowfall will see their temperatures rise. However, the disturbance will continue to shift northeastward, bringing further freezing rain and snowfall.
Early next night, freezing rain or snowfall will remain possible between Hauts-de-France and the Grand Est region.
When will conditions improve?
We will have to wait for the mild spell associated with the disturbance to reach the northeastern borders so that the situation truly improves.
At the end of the next night, the mild weather will have reached the borders of the northeast, and the precipitation will no longer be of an aggravating nature.
In any case, freezing rain is a more dangerous phenomenon than snow, because they are often invisible to pedestrians and motorists. If you can, postpone your planned trips this evening and overnight to tomorrow.
