XV of France: injured, Gaël Fickou will miss the start of the Six Nations tournament

A hard blow for a Racing 92 which did not need it… and for the XV of . Gaël Fickou (30 years old, 93 caps), injured in the left hand and left at half-time of the match against LOU last Sunday, will be absent for six to eight weeks, his club announced in a press release published this Tuesday. He will therefore miss the start of the Six Nations tournament. The three-quarter center is indeed the victim of a broken thumb and was operated on Monday.

Fabien Galthié, coach of the Blues, will therefore have to do without him at least for the first two matches of the Tournament, namely the reception of Wales (January 31, 9:15 p.m.) and the trip to England (February 8, 5:45 p.m.). Same sentence for a Racing 92 in search of points to climb the rankings after a complicated sequence on the field as well as behind the scenes: its captain will miss several matches, starting with the trip to this Saturday for the 14th day of Top 14 .

The Ile-de-France residents, stuck in 9th place in the Top 14, will have to fight to avoid seeing their pursuers come back on their heels, Stuart Lancaster's players having for example only four small points ahead of LOU, currently ahead of last in the French championship.
