Several systems were damaged during different attacks. Here is the solution.

War in Ukrainejour 1045.

The years pass, the conflict continues and approaches its sad 3-year anniversary.

On the Ukrainian side, despite the constant and daily pressure exerted since then by the Russians, research is trying to advance as best it can. And this Friday, Metinvest made a significant announcement. Engineers from the country's largest steel producer have developed a shield for Patriot systems. These air defense systems are very valuable since they are capable of intercepting all types of aircraft (drones, helicopters, planes, etc.). The Americans, Germans and Romanians supplied some to the Ukrainians, recalls The Kyiv Independent.

However, some of them were damaged after Russian attacks.

“In a month and a half”

This is where the Metinvest shield comes in: “Weighing more than 2.6 tons, the armor consists of almost 200 elements, including armored steel plates up to 8 millimeters thick. According to the company, the weight of the armor does not affect not the functionality or mobility of the system”specify our colleagues.

“In a month and a half, we created a project from scratch and made a shield from Ukrainian armor steel from Metinvest for the crew of the Patriot air defense system, which guarantees protection against damage by debris to both defenders and the air defense control center”proudly declared Oleksandr Myronenko, operational director of the Metinvest group, this Friday.

Metinvest has already developed protections for T-64 and T-72 tanks but also for Abrams, and plans to develop some for the Leopard 2.
