Pollution, suspected of being intentional, was detected on the Montville body of water this Monday, December 30 before being removed by the firefighters. An investigation has been opened.
The body of water in Montville, a commune in Seine-Maritime located near Rouen, was polluted in a “probably voluntary” manner, the municipality indicated on Monday, December 30. Blue marks in the water were noted.
It could be paint spilled into the pond. Firefighters intervened to manage the pollution. No dead fish or birds have yet been spotted, assures the town hall.
According to Paris-Normandie, all of the polluting product was removed and taken care of by technical services. An order prohibiting nautical activities was also issued by the town hall until the samples were analyzed, specifies the Norman daily, which adds that an investigation is underway.
The outraged residents
Some residents were able to observe this pollution and also posted photos on social networks, where the pollution is clearly visible on the surface of the body of water.
