A chip shop in Pas-de-Calais has risen to the top of the national ranking established by the specialized site les-friteries.com. Like every year, this site has established a ranking of chip shops, according to the popularity index of the 1,525 establishments present in France.
Not surprisingly, the best fries are found in Hauts-de-France. 14's diner in Hersin-Coupigny took first place.
“It is thanks to you, dear customers, that this great adventure is possible! A huge thank you for your loyalty, your smiles, and your greed which push us to give the best every day”, reacted the management of the chip shop on his social networks this Thursday, January 2.
In the overall ranking (combined with Belgium), the establishment even takes second place, behind a Walloon chip shop, Lesve ta frite, near Namur.
Hauts-de-France kings of fries
This ranking, published every year at the beginning of January, regularly gives pride of place to Hauts-de-France. The first eight places in this 2024 list are taken by establishments in the region. Burger Magic in Aniche (North) takes the silver medal. The Hersinoise chip shop, still in Hersin-Coupigny, took third place on the podium.
Then follow establishments in Cambrai, Dunkirk, and even Beuvry. Proof that Hauts-de-France is indeed the champion of fries, out of the top ten chip shops in the ranking, nine are establishments in the region.
