An agent of the National Institute of Migration (INM) was killed Monday in Ciudad Juarez, a US border city in northern Mexico, during an identity check on migrants, authorities said, announcing the arrest of three suspects.
The attack took place around 12:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. Swiss time), when the agent was “attacked by a group of foreign people” from whom he had just asked for their identity papers, detailed the ‘INM in a press release.
A Colombian and two Venezuelans were arrested three hours later, according to the INM. The victim was found dead “with traces of violence” and a head injury.
