This December 31, 2024, for New Year's Eve, the city of Cayenne is organizing a popular ball and a large fireworks display on Place des Palmistes from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
It was a tradition for many : « the fireworks at Almond Trees ». But the place, with its official name, Place Auguste Horth, being under construction, this year, it is on the Place des Palmistes that fans will have to meet.
For once, Cayenne pulled out all the stops. In fact, it is between 5 000 et 6 000 fires which will be visible in the sky, coming from more than a thousand bombs launched from a demarcated space behind the former Jean-Martial hospital. From the square and surrounding areas the public will be able to admire them up to 220 meters in the sky.
Custom will be respected : the fireworks, which will last between ten and fifteen minutes, will be launched from midnight, after the countdown carried out by Sandra Trochimara, mayor of the city.

Before looking up to the sky, the audience is invited to applaud the artists on stage. Venssy will perform first. The Cayennais is particularly proud to be present to close the year 2024 in the capital city.

The singer promises to “set fire” and, for its audience, to reveal “a little new sound”. This surprise planned for the Guyanese public is one of the many new things that the artist is planning for the year 2025.

After an interlude by DJ Klass, and sessions where the public will be able to win gifts, two other artists are planned. Sikem, known for his title Like a Guyanesewill also intone its new sound, My Guyanese.
He will then be followed, around 11 p.m., by Darina Victry. The Cameroonian singer makes people dance in Guyana, as elsewhere, to her song Let me Love You. If she plans to sing several titles, Darina Victry promises: “the Guyanese public will be treated to the song they love so much. I even think I'll let him sing it for me “, she jokes.

After the midnight fireworks, it's time for the big popular ball hosted by DJ Klass. The public will be able to enjoy it until 4 a.m.
For this celebration which is intended to be family-friendly, Cayenne paid particular attention to security : in addition to the municipal police and the national police, around forty security agents will be present.
