According to information from the Doubs departmental fire and rescue service, the roof was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on site.
Avoid re-igniting the fire
Extinguishing this fire, which did not cause any casualties, required the use of a hydraulic device, which consisted of three nozzles, one of which was on the aerial lifting arm. Due to the topography of the site, the intervention of the fifteen firefighters mobilized was not easy. Clearing operations were necessary to prevent the fire from resuming.
Apart from an on-call officer from the City of Besançon, agents from the national police and municipal police were mobilized during the firefighters' intervention. They temporarily blocked access to Chemin des Ragots for vehicles.
Teams from GRDF and Enedis were also mobilized.
