The LR candidates for the early legislative elections led a field electoral evening, in a gloomy context for their political formation.

The results of the European elections did not, so to speak, invite great optimism from local LR officials. This Sunday evening, no common HQ unlike the left and the far right.

In the 3rd constituency of the Rhône, left-wing territory acquired by outgoing MP Marie-Charlotte Garin, candidate Béatrice de Montille remained true to herself, surveying all of the polling stations in the territory. “I’ve done them all!” she congratulates herself.

In the 4th constituency, Romain Billard also took his pilgrim’s staff to sail from polling station to polling station.

No voting instructions at local level

Béatrice de Montille says she is “very happy with the participation of the French”. If she has no illusions regarding the results in her constituency, won over to the left, she sees it as a sign that “the French love politics and love their country”, even if she does not think “that the solution to The country’s ills are on the side of the extreme right or the New Popular Front.”

“This encourages us to get down to serious work to propose an alternative,” she explains. For the time being, radio silence on voting instructions for the second round. In the Rhône, however, withdrawals and voting instructions will be decisive in the breakthrough or not of the national rally.
