Nice: neighborhood cordoned off, RAID intervention, armed “Marseillais” are wanted

Individuals armed with long weapons

It was around 2 p.m. this Thursday that several individuals were identified by surveillance cameras. Armed with long weapons, they were circulating in the Bon Voyage neighborhood. Dispatched to the scene, the police “secured the area while the RAID intervened,” said Anthony Borré, first deputy mayor, on the scene.

The police tell us that a shotgun and one automatic pistol were seized in an apartment.

Two apartments in total were visited, to no avail. “According to the residents, These would be young people from Marseille.they allegedly told them that they were looking for a drug dealing point, which had disappeared last week following a major police operation,” Anthony Borré explains.

The neighborhood is still secured by the police

On the social network X, Christian Estrosi, the mayor of the capital of the Côte d’Azur, also speaks of suspects from Marseille, “who have been trying to take over a drug dealing point since yesterday”.

At around 5pm, the area was still secured by the police. An investigation was opened by the Nice public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the interdepartmental service of the judicial police.
