On the main event of the legendary Mont-Blanc marathon (42 km, 2,540m altitude difference), this Sunday June 30, the talented Dylan Ribeiro (Salomon France) hoped to repeat his incredible performance from last year where, for his first participation, he finished in a superb 8th place (3h54’56”). With his bib number 41, the 24-year-old Bisontin finished further back in the ranking (26th), but he was still able to lower his time under 4 hours, at the end of the effort, by going to the Place du Triangle de the friendship of Chamonix in 3h58’19” (the Moroccan Elhousine Elazzaoui won in 3h30’07”). He was 14th at 19 km after passing the big chunk that is the Aiguillette des Posettes, and before attacking the long descent to Vallorcine. He was even close to the top 10 men’s scratch at 33 km, when the rain started to fall in the Chamonix valley.

The Jura native Théo Bourgeois (Brooks trail running, n°45) even passed him in the last third of the race, finishing 16th (3h52’14”). Léandre Santin, 21st in 2023, was also present at the start but stopped shortly after the hour mark.

Top 10 for Girardet

Among the other Francs-Comtois to follow this weekend in Haute-Savoie, in addition to the magnificent second place of Thibaut Baronian after a controlled race on Friday, we can also note the performance of Bisontine Pauline Girardet (22 years old). Coming to gain experience on this alpine classic, the member of the Salomon Espoir team finished in tenth place among the girls in the 23 km on Saturday, in 2h54’35”. Louis Regennass (Nike trail team hopefuls) finished 35th in 2h34’27”.
