The Quebec government has announced a $4.1 million grant for projects promoting responsible, sustainable tourism adapted to the context of climate change.

In total, 15 projects were selected, including that of the Sutton Economic Development Corporation.

The initiative’s mission is to set up a trail offering a four-season route and linking attractions to enable the discovery of Sutton’s natural heritage and the establishment of an interactive digital platform.

“I would like to warmly congratulate all the beneficiaries for the excellence of their projects and their commitment to offering an enriching and environmentally friendly tourist experience. These initiatives will be beneficial for Quebec tourism businesses since they will allow them to reduce their environmental footprint and prepare them to meet present and future climate challenges,” says Benoit Charette, Minister of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change. , Wildlife and Parks and minister responsible for the Laurentides region.

The project was selected following a call for projects carried out as part of the second component of the sustainable destination and concerted action measure, administered by the Quebec Action Fund for Sustainable Development (FAQDD).
