Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, the Morlette gymnasium hosted basketball tournaments organized by the US Cenon Basket-Ball section and Skypark BBALL. A sports weekend with around thirty teams and more than 260 players, from U11s to seniors, all hand-picked. “The participants were selected based on their sporting performances but also their involvement and investment in the life of their clubs,” explains Ablaye Da’glide, coach of the Cenonnais basketball club and creator of the Skypark. It was the juniors who opened the show for these two days, which looked like an American-style show: 3-point shots, dunk contests, exhibitions, MVIP, there is something for everyone and every audience! Over the course of the weekend, very high-level matches took place one after the other, ending with the presentation of a trophy and champion rings, NBA style.

Record de participation

But the goal of the tournament is not the competition, it is above all a meeting place to unite clubs and players around the game. Promoting the practice of basketball in a friendly and camaraderie atmosphere, such is the recipe for the event. And it pleases! This 12th edition records a record attendance and participants come from all over the department to win the trophy and make themselves known. When the tournament was created, Ablaye Da’glide had launched a call for partners, driven by the desire to make the tournament shine beyond the community. A successful bet, the public was there, young and old, eager to discover the new basketball talents. The 13th edition is already on the shelves and will undoubtedly be very popular.
