This Sunday, June 30, the first round of the legislative elections takes place. Schedules, polling stations, proxy… A short guide to everything you need to know to be able to vote with complete peace of mind.

Only three weeks after the European elections, voters are once again called to the polls this Sunday, June 30, for the first round of the legislative elections. Polling station hours, printing of ballots, consultation of results… Here is some practical information to know.

Clermont-Ferrand has 69 polling stations. They will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. In In some cities, polling stations may remain open until 7 or 8 p.m. This is particularly the case in Paris, where voters can vote from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but also in other cities such as Marseille or Montpellier. If you live in a large urban area, it is recommended to check the specific hours with your town hall or on the internet, as a prefectural decree may set different closing times.

The European vote is still quite fresh in people’s minds but perhaps some voters will have difficulty finding, if not their polling station, at least their constituency. The address of your polling station is written on your electoral card next to the polling place notice. You also simply need to connect to the French administration website and then enter your address. In case you go to the wrong polling station on election day, the agents will still be able to inform you and redirect you to the correct polling station.

Here is a map showing all the polling stations in Clermont-Ferrand.

As for the constituencies, you can refer to the website of the National Assembly. It presents a map of each department with the division of the constituencies.

Before going to your polling station, remember to bring an identity document: identity card, passport, driving license, Vitale card with photo, and even a fishing license are accepted. However, photos or the dematerialized version of the identity document are not admitted.

If you have been given a power of attorney, there is no need to have the identity document of the absent person. All you need to do is indicate your name and bring your proxy receipt. What about the ballots then? It is possible to prepare your envelope in advance by bringing your ballot paper. However, ballots will be made available to voters. For those who wish to bring their ballots, be careful not to make a mistake, you must slip the ballots into the envelope and not the professions of faith. Otherwise, the vote is counted as invalid.

The easiest way is to fill out an online form here to verify your registration. As a reminder, in France, you can vote if you are of French nationality, if you are at least 18 years old on the day of the election, if you are registered on the electoral lists of your municipality and if you are not deprived of your civil and political rights by court decision.
