On the eve of the first round of the early legislative elections, Solidaires RATP does not rule out actions or strikes in the event of a victory for the National Rally on July 7.

Towards a social revolt? In a press release published this Friday, Solidaires RATP, the group’s minority union, once again took action against the National Rally (RN) and its allies, favorites in the early legislative elections with 36% of voting intentions.

Also, according to information from Europe 1, the union could plan actions, strikes and demonstrations if the political party led by Jordan Bardella were to obtain an absolute majority in the National Assembly.

This result would be almost synonymous with accession to Matignon for the president of the RN who clearly does not count on the support of the unions. Indeed, many of them called for demonstrations against the political party the day after the European elections and the dissolution desired by Emmanuel Macron, who would have acted like an “arsonist”, according to Solidaires RATP.

“We do not refrain from any action”

This strong mobilization of unions raises fears of a possible social revolt. At Europe 1, François-Xavier Arnouls, co-secretary of Solidaires RATP said that “the RN is the enemy of workers”.

The union representative clarified his remarks by explaining that he was not prohibiting “any action in the wake of the results of the second round, demonstrations, perhaps strikes”. These would also come at a critical time, in the run-up to the Olympic Games and during school holidays.

This idea was hammered home by Aurélien Boudon, national secretary of Solidaires RATP. “This is not at all the party of the end of the month. This party will lead a policy in the service of the bosses,” we can hear in a video urging people to block the RN.

Without giving them any confidence, the union and the CGT are calling for a vote for the New Popular Front starting this Sunday, unlike FO-Groupe RATP and UNSA Groupe RATP who have opted for political neutrality.
