This Friday, 7 people were indicted in Paris in a case of suspected money laundering of drug trafficking involving a man named “Olivier S”, presented as a figure in the underworld.

A crackdown on the underworld. On Friday, June 28, 7 people were indicted in a case involving aggravated money laundering, laundering of drug trafficking, and importation and trafficking of drug trafficking.

After appearing before the judges of liberties and detention in Paris, 4 of the 7 suspects were imprisoned. Among them, Olivier S., who is presented as a figure of the underworld. His two brothers were also imprisoned. When he was arrested, Olivier S. was in possession of a handgun and was immediately taken into custody by the narcotics squad of the Paris judicial police.

According to sources close to the case, the investigation began in 2022 and focused on the famous “Olivier S”, his luxurious lifestyle which, according to one of these sources, would be “unbelievable”, with “dinners in grand restaurants, posh apartments, luxury watches and holidays on yachts”. A daily life incompatible with his real income, which would therefore have given rise to a presumption of money laundering on his part.

War weapons found during search

“During the search, a watch worth 300,000 euros, 100,000 euros in cash, narcotics and weapons of war were found,” the prosecution said.

For his part, Olivier S. indicated that he was not involved in any drug trafficking. “He denies any involvement in any drug trafficking,” commented his lawyer, David-Olivier Kaminski, contacted by AFP.

A source close to the case confirmed Olivier S.’s links with the Marseille underworld but also the fact that the shooting of a 31-year-old real estate agent in Paris in the 8th arrondissement in May 2023 was an operation which in reality targeted this alleged “baron”.

The drug trafficking aspect of the investigation is, at this stage, less developed than that concerning money laundering.
