Relatives of Laurie Desbiens are organizing a search this weekend to try to find her.

The 30-year-old woman from Dolbeau-Mistassini was last seen on May 22 near Chemin Caribou, in the Zec Rivière-aux-Rats, north of Dolbeau-Mistassini.

Relatives and volunteers met there Saturday morning in the hope of finding her.

Around thirty people were there.

All the research we’ve done, we want to be sure we haven’t forgotten anything. There, they have three tracking dogs and they are really good dogs because I see them working. We want to be sure that she doesn’t fall behind the rest of usshared his father, Luc Desbiens.

The Sarcan-K9 Québec canine teams participate voluntarily in the research. The crowdfunding campaign made it possible to pay for certain expenses such as gas and accommodation.

The latter has set up a fundraising campaign to help pay the costs related to the research.

The search and rescue association Sarcan-K9 Québec is also participating in the search efforts. Despite the rain, conditions were perfect for the teams on the field.

Around thirty people are participating in the search to find Laurie Desbiens.

The objective today is to cover as many sectors as possible with the people we have, then the canine teams we have, with a greater probability of detection. Let’s say that in a sector, well we want this sector to be covered if possible with at least 80% probability of detection.explained Gérald Marcil, from the Sarcan-K9 Québec association.

On Sunday, people interested in participating in the search are expected at 7 a.m. at the Resto des Copains, in the Mistassini sector.
