If in doubt, you should first check whether you are registered on the electoral roll.
There are two solutions available to you:
- contact your town hall to check that you are registered on one of the electoral lists in your municipality
- check on the secure Service-public website
In the latter case, you will then need to complete an online form indicating the name of the municipality in which you think you are registered, your first and last names and date of birth.
If your registration on the electoral roll is effective, you will obtain your national voter number as well as the number of your polling station and its address.

Since January 1, 2022, it is no longer obligatory to entrust a power of attorney to a person registered in the same municipality.
However, if you are designated by a member of your entourage to vote by proxy, you will have to go to their polling station to vote in their place.

You will need the voter number and date of birth of the person who will vote in your place, or all of their civil status data and their voting municipality.
Even if the request is made online, you will have to go to the police station or gendarmerie to have your identity verified and the power of attorney validated.
This Sunday, June 30, it will be possible to vote for the first round of legislative elections from 8 a.m. in metropolitan France.
The law sets the closing time for polling stations for this election at 6 p.m.
In some cities, the closing of polling stations may be postponed to 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. for large cities.
On election day, simply show up at the registered polling station on your electoral card. Know that the absence of a voter card does not prevent you from voting.
