The Indre Tennis Tour has delivered its verdict

It was a day of celebration this Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the facilities of the Raymond-Thomas space in Châteauroux with the finals of the Indre Tennis Tour. “There was a good turnout throughout the season, explained the president of the departmental committee Christèle Raphalen and the general secretary Nathalie Danjon in unison. Moreover, this trend is general in all competitions.”

This kind of Masters, created in 2013 at the initiative of the instructors, is the accumulation of TMC (multi-chance tournaments) organized from October to June by the ASPTT clubs Châteauroux, Argenton-sur-Creuse, Le Blanc, Saint -Gaultier, Diors, Le Poinçonnet, CTC 36, Saint-Maur, Mézières-en-Brenne and Ardentes. “In total, we estimate that we will have reached 150 children, including around fifty for the last meeting,” confirm the two leaders.

“The most passionate are there”

Young people are the priority of the Indre committee, which has 900 (under 18) out of a total of 2,500 members. “They can also register for individual or team championships and although we see that they are often the same, they are not necessarily the best. But they are undoubtedly the most passionate! »

The fact remains that the level is not very high (no youngster is ranked in the second series), even if one very important fact should not be ignored. “It’s an individual sport; therefore, it requires a very strong investment from the club and the parents,” conclude Christèle Raphalen and Nathalie Danjon.
