Dax-Gamarde definitively demoted to regional level

French NM2 champions in 2019, Dax-Gamarde will nevertheless leave the national level. At the end of a very complicated season, the reds and blacks managed to secure their survival in the final moments of the exercise (11th in Group B of NM2), but they are caught up in the economic crisis that the historic club is going through, bringing together 3 localities (Dax, Gamarde and Goos).

Resident of NM1 for 3 years (2019/22), the largest men’s club in Landes had been demoted to the regional level at first instance. However, the DGB had to appeal and the hearing was scheduled for June 25. Except that the entity of President Jérôme Mansanné withdrew his course, thus confirming his sending to the regional league, or to the Pre-National at best.

The DGB season, which came very close to a return to NM1 in 2023 (defeat in the playoffs against Avignon), was punctuated by numerous financial concerns (players and staff strike in March against salary delays) animated by the soap opera of the merger with Adour Dax Basket, also a resident of Nationale 2. But a union was ultimately refused by the president of the ADB, Corinne Dulouat.
