Montreal’s Canada Day parade may have been canceledbut those who want to celebrate the maple leaf will have the opportunity to do so during one of the many shows offered on the 1is July.

Here are five options for partying across Quebec and Ottawa.

Ottawa

Logically, the biggest show of Canada Day will take place in the nation’s capital. This free concert includes French (FouKi, Corneille, Sara Dufour) and English (Metric, Chromeo, Kiesza) artists, in addition to shining the spotlight on First Nations talent (Kanen, Notorious Cree, Qattuu).

In the Old Capital, a family celebration is planned from noon to mark the 157the Canada’s birthday. The big winner of Canada’s Got Talent 2022, Saguenay singer Jeanick Fournier will take to the stage presenting a “mixture of original songs and nods to the five divas who have inspired her since her debut.”

Victoriaville


Journal de Quebec

Rock will be in the spotlight at Victo for Canada Day. The group Atomik Train will break the ice before giving way to the duo formed by the ex-bassist of Offenbach, Breen LeBoeuf, and Martin Deschamps. The Musical Box, a tribute band to Genesis, will close the festivities.

Longueuil

A 4 km parade will launch the festivities in Longueuil and will be followed by the rendition of the national anthem by another woman who has left her mark on Canada’s Got TalentJade Mathieu. Country singer Jay Kutcher (the late Jérôme Couture) and Franco-Ontarian artist Mélissa Ouimet will set the evening alight.

A few kilometers south of Longueuil, another interesting option is offered on the banks of the Richelieu River. The Canadian Armed Forces will be honored during a military parade and commemoration of the 80e anniversary of the Normandy landings. Then, in the evening, pop singer Jonathan Roy will present his catchy compositions.
