Blockage at the Camille-Rayon port in Golfe-Juan: Mayor Kevin Luciano delivers his truths

Why? When? How? It was time to clarify this story of blocking the takeover of the Camille-Rayon port in Golfe-Juan. The City, which was due to sign its new concession contract with the delegate D-Marinas Hellas, is prevented by an appeal.

The date of the Greek group’s start of service at the port, scheduled for July 1, has therefore been postponed to July 10. And between the silence of the town hall and the “rumors” on the port, a real blur has set in…

In short: in the municipal council, this Friday, June 28, the elected representatives of the opposition did not fail to put their feet in the dish. “What are the difficulties? And the reasons for the appeal? Are there any legal obstacles?” Armand Bisror (SE) hastened.

Two appeals rejected

The mayor explains: “The Rodriguez group (1) applied to become a concessionaire. Except that the public service delegation commission did not accept it, considering that it did not meet the criteria. Rejected, the group wanted to appeal this decision. They filed two appeals, which they lost, and filed a third, still on the same grounds.” According to Kevin Luciano, the procedure will be decided on July 1st.

“There will then be no more obstacle to the signing of the DSP contract with D-Marinas Hellas”assures the elected official.

No change in the next six months

Another question, raised by Emélie Leduc (SE) (and relayed by traders in our columns): the increase in rent prices for users, upon the arrival of the new delegatee. Firm, the mayor insists: “IUntil December 31, all users in place on the port will remain there under the same conditions! In what language should this be said? We have been saying it for months. There will be no bad surprises.”

Indeed, according to the City, the first increase of 10% will arrive in January 2025.

1. The Rodriguez group currently owns the port shipyard.
