The name of William Martinet (LFI) was recited like a scansion on Sunday evening, June 30, at office N1 of the town hall, in Traps.

The central office of the 11th constituency of Yvelines set the tone. Shortly after 9 p.m., the trend was confirmed with a candidate from the New Popular Front at 61.6%, the RN candidate, Victoria Doucet at 16.7% and Laurent Mazaury (UDI), representing the right and the center, who resisted at 15.4%.

Overall, for the constituency, William Martinet received 43.38% of the votes, Laurent Mazaury 29.25% and Victoria Doucet, 21.79%.

Trappes did the job

The team of Ali Rabeh, mayor of Trappes and deputy (DVG) of the NFP candidate, displayed satisfaction, albeit restrained.

“We have disagreements,” Ali Rabeh says, “but it was my responsibility to go there. We did the work,” the elected official adds.

By late evening, the trend in the 11th constituency was confirmed. Bois-d’Arcy, Élancourt, Fontenay-le-Fleury, La Verrière, Saint-Cyr-l’École, Trappes and Le Mesnil-Saint-Denis, placing William Martinet at 43.31%, Laurent Mazaury at 29.30%, Victoria Doucet at 21.80%. Turnout: 67.98%.

In certain Trappist offices, the candidate of the New Popular Front flirts with the 80 %He achieved 72.85% in the city, Victoria Doucet 13.5% and Laurent Mazaury 9.42%.

“It’s a historic score, which we already achieved in 2012 with Benoit Hamon.”

Ali Rabeh, the mayor of Trappes.

In this constituency, which includes towns that are difficult for the right and the centre, Laurent Mazaury remains in the race.

“We have a reservoir of votes”

“We have a reservoir of votes, unlike the New Popular Front. We will seek them out by positioning ourselves against the extremes LFI and RN. We pay tribute to Aurélie Piacenza, who decided not to run for the presidential majority. A withdrawal which contributed to this score in the first round,” indicate Laurent Mazaury and his deputy Lydie Duchon. Two local elected candidates in Élancourt and Saint-Cyr-l’École.

Go search for voices, this is what Ali Rabeh intends to continue doing. The first round, with 62.41% participation in Trappes, 66.30% in office N1, showed the effectiveness of the field work done by the Trappist majority.

“A huge amount of work, on the phone, through the associative network. I have always believed in the power of field work. Trappes had 5,300 voters in 2022, there are 9,400 who voted today in Trappes,” confides William Martinet’s substitute.

“Amplification of Europeans”

As for Laurent Mazaury, the candidate appreciates the incentive to vote a little less megaphone made in La Verrière, in front of a polling station and its electoral posters targeted and defaced.

At the National Rally, the rule is to remain in the second round, “except in exceptional cases”, confides Laurent Morin, departmental delegate, candidate in the 9th constituency of Yvelines.

Victoria Doucet will be, unsurprisingly, in the second round next Sunday, with an honorable score of 21.8% for a first-time candidate in a legislative election.

“It’s a very good score, a big progression, an amplification of the European trend. The Yvelines cannot resist the exceptional advance of our party, in all constituencies,” says Laurent Morin, with Victoria Doucet not wishing to speak.

The other candidates flop, starting with Nathalie Machuca (Reconquête) with 1.91%. Patrick Planque (Workers’ Struggle) 1.08%. Sarah Nicos (Equinoxe) 2.23%. Boris Lutz (Free France) 0.35%.
