Seven duels and four triangularsthis will be the face of the second round of legislative elections in Gironde on July 7. 26 candidates are still in the running and the withdrawal instructions given at the national level have been followed in our department. The National Rally is leading in six of the twelve Gironde constituencies and is presenting ten candidates for this second round. The New Popular Front and Ensemble are presenting eight candidates. 1st constituency: Bordeaux-north Le Bouscat

The Bordeaux Minister of Public Accounts Renaissance Thomas Cazenave comes out on top with 38.31% of the vote. The first constituency is one of the four triangular districts of the department.

2nd constituency: Bordeaux-center

The incumbent elected in 2022, the environmentalist Nicolas Thierry, was only a few votes short of avoiding a second round. He will be opposed to the candidate of the New Popular Front Véronique Juramy. It’s here only constituency where the National Rally is not present in the second round.

3rd constituency: Bordeaux-south Bègles Talence Villenave d’Ornon

He missed six ballots for Loïc Prud’homme to get through to the first round. The France Insoumise and New Popular Front candidate will contest a triangular in his constituency in the second round.

4th constituency: Métropole Right Bank

The socialist Alain David has been a member of parliament since 2017, he came in first by ten points this Sunday and will compete in a duel. The former mayor of Cenon resisted the rise of the National Rally. The Macronist candidate Fabrice Moretti does not exceed 12.5% ​​of those registered and was unable to maintain his position.

5th constituency: Médoc

The far-right deputy from Médoc, Grégoire de Fournas, elected in 2022, came out on top in the first round. 6th constituency: Mérignac St Médard-en-Jalles

7th constituency: Pessac Cestas Gradignan

Last triangular of the department, that in the 7th district where Renaissance MP and former minister, Bérangère Couillard from Gironde, was beaten to the polls by a candidate from Pessac, the municipal and departmental councilor Sébastien Saint-Pasteur, close to Alain Rousset.

The outgoing Renaissance Sophie Panonacle, elected in 2017, was overtaken by the National Rally candidate Laurent Lamara. Coming third with 18.67% of the vote, the candidate of the New Popular Front withdrew and called for a vote for Sophie Panonacle.

9th constituency: South Gironde

Sophie Mette, the outgoing Modem MP, was well ahead in the first round by the RN candidate François-Xavier Marques. The candidate of the New Popular Front, the socialist Corinne Martinez with 27.89% of the votes withdraws but does not give no voting instructions for the second round.

10th constituency: Libournais

Member of Parliament since 2012, first under the PS label, then LREM and Renaissance, Florent Boudié is ahead by almost 14 points by the National Rally candidate. The candidate of the New Popular Front obtained 24.29% of the votes, he withdrew and called for Florent Boudié to vote.

  • Florent Boudie (Renaissance / Ensemble) – 29,96%

11th constituency: North Gironde

The outgoing National Rally MP Edwige Diaz was elected in the first round with 53.33% of the votes.

12th constituency: Entre-Deux-Mers

Pascal Lavergne is the only outgoing MP from the department not to be present in the second round. “It’s not a withdrawal, it’s a withdrawal” a explained Pascal Lavergne to France Bleu Gironde. He does not give voting instructions.
