The Côte-d’Or department is ready to host the 2024 Tour de France for three consecutive stages, from July 4 to 6. This major event will mobilize state services and local authorities to ensure a smooth and secure organization. Here is an overview of the preparations and the impacts on the region.

Stage 6: Macon – Dijon (163.5 km)

Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024

The 6th stage will start in Mâcon and end in Dijon. The 163.5 km route will cross several departmental roads which will be closed to traffic from 12:30 p.m. near Corpeau. Runners will arrive in Dijon around 5:30 p.m., with temporary closures on the main roads (RD973, RD996, RD968, RD905, M905, M905B) and restrictions on the ring road and the A39 motorway. Date: Friday, July 5, 2024

This stage will take place from 1:05 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The roads will be closed to traffic and parking along the entire route, including the RD974, closed to heavy goods vehicles from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Access will also be prohibited in the Combe de Chambolle for reasons of security and protection of the national nature reserve. Date: Saturday July 6, 2024

The peloton will leave from Semur-en-Auxois to reach Colombey-les-deux-Eglises, covering 183.4 km through varied landscapes and winding roads. Security measures will be similar to those of previous days to ensure the protection of participants and the public.

Mobilization of security forces and protection of the environment

To ensure the security of the event, more than 1,230 gendarmes, 190 national police officers, 353 firefighters and four civil security associations will be deployed. Agents from the National Forestry Office and the French Biodiversity Office will also patrol to preserve sensitive natural areas. An operational command post will be activated by the prefect of Côte-d’Or for each stage.
