Le Mans. The future Palais des Congrès et de la Culture will have a bar with a rooftop terrace!

During the community council on Thursday June 27, 2024, elected officials voted on the final preliminary project for the future Palais des Congrès et de la Culture (PCC) in Le Mans (Sarthe).

Already presented, the project has been expanded with the creation forecast a bar and a terrace on the roof of the PCC.

The renovated building with two extensions

As a reminder, the project includes the renovation of the main building as well as the construction of two extensionsThe first will be founded on the site of the current house of associations and unions and will include a conference room 500 placestwo exhibition floors and four committee rooms.

The second extension will be built above the existing car park and will provide a view of the Sarthe. It will be connected to the PCC by a covered footbridge and will bring together the spaces necessary for the operation of a 180-seat congress. It will have committee rooms and a large roof terrace.

The CCP itself will be reorganized from 1396 to 1350 places for greater comfort and access will be reviewed. The parking lot will be renovated and redeveloped.

A rooftop terrace bar

This is one of the new features that appears in the final preliminary project (budgeted at a little less than 103 million euros TTC) and which, until now, had not yet been mentioned. The project provides for the development of a roof-top on the building, in other words a bar with a terrace on the roof of the future Palais des Congrès et de la Culture.

The bar will also be open au grand public outside the periods of activity of the Palais des Congrès et de la Culture.

PCC work must begin in summer 2025 for an estimated duration of just over two and a half years. Delivery is currently scheduled for mars 2028.
