The boulevard that was laid out for the outgoing MP did not close in the 5th constituency. Having moved from the Republicans two years ago to the Union of the Right with the RN for this election – in the line of her mentor Éric Ciotti –, Christelle d’Intorni swept everything in her path. Starting with the valleys in which the former mayor of Rimplas exceeded 60%. In the lead in each of the 27 villages of Tinée, Vésubie and the left bank of the Var. Up to Nice where, with 45%, she left no chance to her opponents, starting with the elected representative of the Nice majority Gaël Nofri who completely plummeted (he finished in 3rd place with 15.96%, behind the Nice municipal councillor of the opposition Les Écologistes Fabrice Decoupigny, 23.66%).

Tough evening for the Estrosist candidate

A single figure to summarize the plebiscite of the LR-Union des droites candidate: Christelle d’Intorni won 10,000 votes in two years (with 29,804 votes). So yes, during the second round of the 2022 legislative elections, abstention was 59% (compared to 33% yesterday evening). But still.

The candidate of the New Popular Front finished in second place with 20.66% of the votes across the constituency. With 3 points more than Nupes two years ago, Fabrice Decoupigny comes out of the poll re-energized with, already in mind, the municipal election of 2026…

Finally, it is for the Estrosist camp that the evening will be one of the hardest to digest. With the crushing defeat of Gaël Nofri, Christian Estrosi sees a constituency that was nevertheless his from 1988 to 2022 moving even further away.

We finish with a Gaël Nofri at 15%, Mr Estrosi bears a heavy responsibility for this defeat”, analyzes the independent candidate, Patrice Benoît. The one who played the role of the fourth man by claiming a presidential majority everywhere, without having the inauguration, finished with more than 10% of the votes.
