They are expected from the end of this night from Friday 28 to Saturday 29 June, and until Sunday 30 June 2024, in the morning, in an “explosive” weather context, warn many forecasters.

Locally very strong thunderstorms are anticipated over New Aquitaine, then should shift towards Center-Val-de-Loire and the Paris region, then Eastern France over the hours. In these regions, cumulative rainfall of 50 to 80 mm in a short time, very strong gusts (up to 100 km/h) of large hail and intense electrical activity are possible.

25 departments on orange vigilance, 55 on yellow vigilance

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, this Friday June 28, Météo France has already placed 25 departments from southwest to northeast on orange alert and 56 departments on yellow alert and other alerts should follow, in other departments, in the coming hours.

The most violent storms could affect Franche-Comté, Lorraine and Alsace, but few regions should escape them.

Only the regions from Brittany to Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the south-east of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and Corsica should remain safe from this bad weather.
