After a sparkling Don Pasquale with musical comedy overtones given last season, the Opéra national de Lorraine invites you to discover another masterpiece by Donizetti with this Elixir of Love. In a village in the Basque countryside, Adina is courted by Sergeant Belcore and the shy Nemorino. But the young girl prefers to escape by reading the novel of Tristan and Isolde. The arrival of a traveling salesman, Doctor Dulcamara, who claims to have discovered a certain love potion, will set this small community in turmoil.
