Installed on the first floor of the former San Marina shoe store, rue du Sauvage, the DreamAway virtual reality space is pure entertainment for young and old. It will open this weekend of June 29 and 30, with an Open House event.

Those who frequented the San Marina shoe store will not find their slippers there… Announced for several weeks on social networks, DreamAway arrives in Mulhouse and takes up residence on the first floor of the former shoe store, at 19 rue of the Savage. Or 350 m² dedicated to virtual reality for playing and having fun. “We are really in pure entertainment by offering to have fun and have a good time. We target groups of friends, families, young people (from 8 years old) and older people, as well as businesses. We target the general public, less gamers,” explains Maxime Chassara, manager of the premises with Jean-Louis Scremin. “Two childhood friends” from the Mulhouse region who are not their first attempt at entrepreneurship, already associated within the company BR-Performance, specialist in the reprogramming of car engines, founded in 2019.

“A collaborative, multi-player experience”

With DreamAway, the adventure is completely different. Move a longship forward to the rhythm of drums to win a race, take part in an aquatic treasure hunt, discover Anne Frank’s house, immerse yourself in the world of zombies… Around twenty experiences are offered, between entertainment, adrenaline rush, adventure, escape game but also culture. “The idea is to share moments and offer a collaborative experience to several players (Editor’s note: two players minimum and up to 16 players simultaneously) », explains the manager of the DreamAway franchise, already established in 16 cities in France, including Strasbourg. To achieve this – and we tested it – the virtual reality space does not skimp on the quality of the equipment with, for each participant, a latest generation virtual headset, but also a sound headset, microphone and controls for a disconcerting precision, which allows you to immerse yourself 360 degrees in a 100% imaginary universe. Bluffing!

For businesses too

In terms of prices, it will cost you from 10 euros for 25 minutes to 30 euros for 45 minutes, depending on the experience and the schedule. In addition to individuals (there is also a package for children’s birthdays), DreamAway also caters to companies and groups, for gaming sessions, but also seminars with spaces that can be partially or completely privatized. “Eventually, we will also offer a light meal, people who come to play often like to prolong the time together”, emphasizes Maxime Chassara, a few hours before the official opening of DreamWay Mulhouse, which will take place this last weekend of June, with an Open House (read below). An invitation “to have fun” in a former shoe store, you couldn’t make it up!

For its launch in Mulhouse, DreamAway is holding an Open House on Saturday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. An opportunity to discover the new space for free and try out around twenty immersive adventures.
