This time it’s for sure: Lille Métropole Basket has failed to retain its place in Pro B. Refused a first time by the DNCCG, the northern club had appealed immediately. Following the second refusal by the DNCCG on June 21, the northern club did not wish to continue the procedures to remain in the second division at all costs. Thus, the National Basketball League (LNB) made it official this Friday, June 28, that the Lille club would not return to Pro B, in the same way as the Metropolitans 92.
The LMB turned to the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) with the aim of joining the National 1 men’s league (NM1). Thus, an application was submitted to play in the third division, a level that Rueil and Pont-de-Chéruy had to leave.
Evreux and which other club to stay at 18 in Pro B?
It remains to be seen which clubs will take Lille and Metropolitans 92’s places in Pro B next season following the disappearance of Metropolitans 92 and Lille’s administrative relegation. Évreux, who finished 17th in the 2023-2024 regular season, is in the lead to regain a place.
