It’s official since this Thursday, the Calais resident and former high-level gymnast, Delphine Ledoux will carry the Olympic flame on Wednesday July 3 during the torch relay in the city of Six Bourgeois.

An opportunity made possible thanks to the immense mobilization enjoyed by the Calais resident who participated in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Her best friend, Julie Gournay, launched an online petition which collected more than 4,000 signatures. Natacha Bouchart, the mayor of Calais and Ludovic Loquet, the vice-president of the Pas-de-Calais Department in charge of sports and major sporting events, also mobilized strongly.

Delphine Ledoux very moved on Priscilla Vandeville’s RADIO 6 microphone.

The Olympic torch relay will set off on Wednesday 3 July at 8:11 am from the Calais La Plage totem on the seafront and will cross a whole part of the city via Calais Nord, the town hall, Boulevard Jacquard and will arrive at 9:20 am at Place du Théâtre. Many activities are planned along the route. RADIO 6 will of course be on site to cover the event.

The Paralympic flame will also pass through Calais on August 25 from the Channel Tunnel. It will start from Fort Nieulay and arrive at the West Basin.
