Roads and traffic
The violent winds caused numerous tree falls and incidents in all 59 municipalities. More than 70 urgent calls were handled this weekend, notably in Val de Saône, Ouest Lyonnais, Givors, Grigny, Vénissieux and Vernaison. Around a hundred interventions have already been carried out. In the Centre-North territory, specific situations are being managed, including threats of roofs and scaffolding collapsing, as well as fallen trees in several streets.
Closure of recycling centers and parks
Due to the risks linked to winds, all recycling centers in the area are closed until further notice. Their reopening will be carried out depending on weather conditions. The metropolitan parks of Parilly and Lacroix-Laval have also been closed to access since this morning, with patrols to ensure the evacuation of users.
Impacted colleges
Schools were not spared. At La Tourette college (Lyon 1st), falling tiles required the intervention of the firefighters, with a secure path for the students. In Villeurbanne, Chassieu and Meyzieu, fallen trees obstruct access or threaten buildings, with teams already working on evacuations.
Preventive actions and mobilization continue
Metropolitan services, in conjunction with the Prefecture, remain fully mobilized. Road crews and security officers intervene on the ground to manage emergencies and prevent other incidents. The population is reminded of the precautionary instructions: limit travel and report any danger.
Vigilance remains required until weather conditions improve. The Metropolis calls on residents to follow updates in real time to guarantee their safety.
