RUGBY: COCB wants to strengthen its training sector

As we know, next year, Le Creusot will no longer be in agreement with Montchanin regarding young people (see our article here).
The club, as part of a general project, wishes to provide in-depth training to young people.

The rugby school (U8 to U14 categories) will be exclusively COCB-branded and Damien Marras will become its president, while Louis Bouillet will be the sports manager. Note that the U14s will be attached to this rugby school, and that they will be trained by Éric Catinot.

The Youth Pole will be in agreement with Autun. It is the latter club that will be the bearer of the U16 category, the COCB being the bearer of the U19. The medium-term objective is to develop U16 and U18 at the national level.
This youth center, whose numbers are increasing, will be led by Patrice Minier, with Pierre-Louis Dechaume as sports manager. Pierre-Louis Dechaume will also be the coach of the U19s, while the U16s will be coached by Louis Bouillet, with of course also coaches from Autun for both categories.
This is a deliberate desire of the club to rely on local players to ensure the training of young people. This restructuring is in line with a more general reorganization aimed at making the COCB a stronghold of rugby in Saône et Loire and Burgundy.

To this end, the club is also setting up development structures for the training courses:
– a class with flexible hours at the Croix Menée college, with plans to develop this type of class at the Centre college and the Épontots college;
– a project to set up a School Sports Section at the Léon Blum high school within two years, which would provide one or two additional training sessions per week.
The aim of these actions is, by adding the Schools World Cup, to reach all school levels from cycle 2 (from CP) to terminale.

To complete this strengthening of its training, the COCB aims to set up a certified training center within two years.
