Ligue 2: AC Ajaccio relegated to national by the DNCG

The announcement had the effect of a bomb and it was surprising! By relegating, in the first instance, the ACA to Ligue 2, the DNCG did not take half measures. A severity which leaves one wondering when at the same time the Girondins de Bordeaux were entitled, for the umpteenth time, to leniency from the DNCG with a new reprieve to fill a hole of 40 million euros in the coffers!

A situation at odds with that of the ACA which according to our information would have been relegated pending the production of additional documents. Documents aimed at guaranteeing the capital contribution of 5 million euros by new shareholders! We are therefore a long way from the Bordeaux debt but, once again, when it comes to judging a Corsican club, double standards are blithely applied by the national authorities. All the more surprising when we know that the ACA has always been, except in 2017, a very good student ahead of the DNCG.

The Ajaccian club has already announced its intention to appeal this decision and is showing itself “confident” for the rest. In a press release, the ACA indicates that it must produce “additional elements”. The club is committed to providing them “within the time allowed” in order to re-enter the Ligue 2 Championship.
