Only eight years after the end of Beverly Hills 90210, the series is relaunched under a new name and a new cast… well almost! Created by Rob Thomas, to whom we owe Veronica Mars, 90210 Beverly Hills: Next Generation is not a reboot but a revival which also functions as a sequel since certain iconic characters appear in the cast in main roles or as guests, like Kelly, Brenda and Donna.
This new series Beverly Hills, broadcast from 2008 to 2013, follows a new group of high school students who study in the same establishment which serves as the setting in the original series. The issues and twists remain in the same vein as the fiction before, being anchored in a more modern world.
The arrival in Beverly Hills of a family with two children of the same age, a boy and a girl. The father, Harry Wilson, is a former student of Beverly Hills High School. He had moved to St. Louis after graduating. He is forced to return to town when his mother, a returning actress, descends into alcoholism. He is accompanied by his wife, Debbie, a former Olympic medalist, their daughter Annie, as well as their adopted son Dixon. The two teenagers must integrate into their new environment and make friends…
